After packing my bags and loading up the car, it was time to ride off into the sunset. However, there was no sun and it was morning so I just got into the car and headed into town. There's a store on N. Reserve which sells outdoor gear so I make my way there to see if they've got any pants in my size. They have, but style wise I wouldn't be seen dead in them!Next stop, the Iron Horse in N. Higgins for lunch with Nancy Jensen. What an encouraging time hearing about the church in Missoula and how it's grown in spirit so much over the last year.
One thing happened before lunch, that had the potential to ruin the day, was that I tried to withdraw some cash from an ATM and it refused. It's not the first time that I've had this problem with my bank while in America and so my temper was very much on a short fuse for a while.
The drive up to Whitefish was relatively easy despite the rain showers that kept me company. A quick pit stop at Big Arm State Park split the journey up and I arrived in Whitefish around 5 pm. After checking in at the hotel i was soon on the phone to my bank to see why I was unable to withdraw cash. They had no answer but the person who answered my call told me that she'd reset my account and for me to try again later. I found a gas station just down the road and tried the ATM there. Deep joy! Got some cash and filled up the rental car with gas before heading back to the hotel.
Tomorrow: the Empire Builder to Chicago!
