I drove down to the Blue Mountain trail head, just south of Missoula, with the intention of going for a hike but the rain put a stop to that plan for a while. I sat in the car and listened to some music while i waited for the rain to stop. Finally, I was able to get out the car and go for that much needed exercise. The first thing I noticed as I reached the trail head was this sign:
Unexploded Ordnance Investigation!!! You mean that there's live shells and other such things around this trail. Other people were going to and from the trail, ususally with dogs, so I figured that it woula be ok to carry on walking. The trail was wide and not very steep and the grass was really dry.By this time it was around 11 o'clock and I was due to meet some of the guys for lunch at 12. I headed up to N. Reserve and arrived at the eatery (a Greek restaurant called Ambrosia) just as the others were starting to get there. We all had something called a euro (not to be confused with the European currency) and I must admit that it was really good.
After lunch I spent time with one of the families that I stayed with last year. Their youngest, who was 4 months old when I was last there, and had only just started to roll over, was walking around but not yet talking. It was so encouraging to hang out with them.
After driving back 'home' and having a freshen up, it was off to Darvin's for some food. More great fellowship and food before heading back to base and to write up the blog.
