I can't cope! The heat in San Francicsco is a mind-numbing 90F............. After being in Edinburgh over the summer, where the temperature never seemed to get above 70F, it's kinda hard to cope with the heat and the humidity in SF, but I did!
After a good nights sleep at Steve and Wendy's, I caught the BART subway to Embarcadero. My first stop was the Amtrak office in the Ferry Terminal where I exchanged my rail pass for tickets.
Next stop, Ocean Beach! I take the Muni bus and then walk up the hill to Louis' cafe where I have breakfast. The food is great and the views stupendous. After breakfast I walk back down the hill to the Cliff House Hotel and set up my video camera.
Then it's back to town and a walk down Market Street. I need a US sim card for my phone so I go looking for a T-Mobile store which I eventually find in the San Francisco Shopping Mall. $60 and I'm set to go - a US cell phone number, unlimited calls and texts and data.
A phone call to text to Steve sets me up for a ride from Hillsdale station on the Caltrain line.
After some dinner, Steve drives me to the BART station at Millbrae where I catch a train to Embarcadero before heading over the Bay Bridge to Emeryville.
